Image editing is a wide spread activity and it's becoming more and more popular. A lot of people want to beautify their own creations and make their photos stand in front of others. The reason why image editing has become so popular is also due to the launching of Adobe Photoshop, which is the best software for doing this. The problem with Photoshop is the fact that it has a lot of features of options that addresses especially advanced users and beginners would need a lot of time and effort to master them. There are a lot of program for inexperienced users, that contain only the essential features that everybody needs, features that are easy to use and understand. One of the software specially designed for first-time users is PicPick.

The program installs very quickly and needs far less system resources than Adobe Photoshop. Also, the program's size is much smaller, so computers that until know only dreamed of running Photoshop can now run PicPick without any problems.

The interface is traditional, meaning there are no complications in using a certain tool and every instrument is easy to reach. Beginners who are familiar with the Paint program included in Windows will be pleased with using PicPick, because its interface resembles Paint a lot, but compared to it, it contains much more features and options. For example, it allows customizing the brightness, the contrast or the saturation of the images, for making them perfect.

A great thing about this program is the fact that it enables capturing the desktop using various settings. Therefore, it can capture the whole desktop, an active window or a certain area of the screen. The Windows operating system already includes a desktop capturing utility, but the one included in PicPick is far more advanced.

The software includes some tools for measuring distances inside the image and also angles, which is good for technical drawings that require a lot of precision.

Edited images can be saved in a wide range of graphical formats, including PDF, but can also be shared on social web sites, like Facebook, can be uploaded to a web site or a FTP server or sent as an email attachment. Also, images can be printed directly from the program.

Pros

It features a familiar interface, which resembles the default Paint program, but with much more features, so beginners will not have any trouble in using PicPicker. Also, it allows capturing the desktop or certain areas of it. Besides, it can save image files in a variety of formats and can also upload or share them on social web sites.

Cons

Even though it includes more features than Paint, advanced users might require more complexity, especially those who use Adobe Photoshop a lot. PicPicker is a great Paint replacement program that makes image editing simple and powerful.
